Important if You're Considering K-12FreeHomeschool.org

I've been seeing lots of plugs for K-12FreeHomeschool.org on various homeschooling blogs and I want to make sure people do their research.

There's a thread at Homeschool.com that has information on the issues some parents have been having with this company.

Follow the links in the thread to Hawaii Virtual School and you'll find a page full of information on the matter including court documents.

Make sure you've made an informed choice.

dawn, thank you for your comment... that explains why they are so eager to pay people for reviews. I am going to delete the review after it is left up a minimum number of days. I have to go figure out what that is now.

I did do my best to look at it thoroughly and before giving a thumbs up. But personal experience always tells the real story.

It's hard sometimes to find out about these things. I lucked out in finding the homeschool.com thread myself, it wasn't good investivgative work or anything, just luck and good timing. :)

I wouldn't mind at all if you put the link to that thread in my comments section

Okay! Will do!

You know what's funny? I left a comment for another blogger who had written about K-12 and she simply deleted it. Apparently she wasn't interested in researching what she wrote about.

From her review, "Crucial to me: Their courses reflect Biblical truth because they have been written by curriculum developers from a Biblical world-view."

I guess a biblical world view excuses one from ethical business practices? :)

Thanks for giving people a heads up, Dawn. I hate seeing homeschoolers (or anyone) bilked with this stuff.

Weird. On the Hawaii Virtual School site, they list Daryl's URL. Wonder what's up with that?

Darryl has had some run ins with Mimi Rothschild, the one that runs K-12FreeHomeschool, Learning By Grace and other schemes and apparently she went out and registered domain names as some sort of weird stalking thing. Cobranchi.com IS his though and Hawaii Virtual School should be notified.

HE&OS post that explains this -

Oh that is just gross.

The first link isn't working. I wonder if there's somewhere I could read more about this. I'm glad to know in advance that there might be problems with this outfit, but would like to share the caution with others. Anything more you can provide would be great.

TIA!
