I Kill Plants...

And I have the pictures to prove it.

This was a beautiful tropical plant my husband brought my on my birthday last fall. Where there's green, there's hope I suppose. If I ever remember to give it water.

A Venus fly trap and some anonymous thing my daughter gave me for Mother's Day. Not even my love for my daughter and my appreciation for her gifts can save the little anonymous thing. Same problem here, no water.

The Cacti. I am even causing some of the cacti to keel over with thirst.

This is the Aloe Vera plant which I actually did quite well with. I even re potted it. However, I suspect one of the kids thought it needed watering because the poor thing is is rotting.

My one success. These are baby Oaks that we grew from acorns. But I always do well with them when they're that young. It's right about now that I start to abandon them.

I am very good with outdoor plants though. I suspect this is the case because even though I'm as negligent with them, at least they have they rain.

Poor baby oaks. I'll have to get them into the ground soon or it's the reaper for them.

Hey! I have your Aloe plant's twin brother at my house!

Oh! A fellow plant killer! :) The only plants that have managed to survive in my house are the ones my husband has taken over caring for.

Valuable tip: I recently discovered that, unlike other artificial plants, many fake catci look perfectly real. Especially at a distance. In fact, I'm waiting for a sale to re-landscape the backyard.

Living where I do, I find the idea that people landscape with cacti bizarre. Never seen fack ones around here!

Laura - I've never thought of the plant murders as a hooby...Why that puts a whole new and positive spin on it! :D

I'm right there with you. Plants never do well in this house - even the cacti are threatened with extinction.

(The idea of landscaping with cacti strikes me as both hilarious and awesome at the same time..Never gonna pass for real ones here though LOL)

You need to use google calendar! It emails me all my "todo" stuff on a daily basis.

I kill goldfish. They just won't live. So I gave up on trying to have them. ;)

I do well with goldfish. The trick is that they need lots of water (10 gallons each) and very frequent water changes (I did about 30% a week).

They're really dirty fish and it's usually that fact that kills them. The poop breaks down into ammonia and that poisons them.

Actually, how goldfish are sold as easy fish that don't need a lot of space is my pet peeve. They're actually tough to keep alive and require more space than most.

I'm going off on a rant now...:D
