The Mother of All Toys

The stick was inducted into the National Toy Hall of Fame:

A magic wand, a knight's sword, a fishing rod?

The lowly stick, a universal plaything powered by a child's imagination, has landed in the National Toy Hall of Fame along with Baby Doll and the skateboard.

Apparently the cardboard box already made it in.

When we 1st moved into our house 9 1/2 years ago we had all kinds of boxes. The kids made a maze that covered almost our whole side yard. At the end of the maze was the club house. The kids and I played in them for almost 2 weeks. Then they started tearing up and the rains came down! LOL!
I also guess a bag full of switches will give a new meaning on Christmas if the stick is the new in. LOL!
Thank you for sharing about Mega words! I have looked at them once, but wasn't sure if they worked. I'm going to buy them in Feb. Can't afford them before. Thank you bunches!!!!

Megawords has been doing wonders here. It's made a big difference for Catherine to be able to see words broken down into syllables and such. Much effective then the usual spelling tests!

The stick?? Seriously?? Okay that is way awesome. :-D

(megawords isn't working so well for us here - the syllable rules are confusing Cindy more than helping her, I think.)

So true: Kids so often abandon the highly processed toys for raw materials. It's a beautiful thing.
