The other day, I took advantage of my sore throat to persuade my 8-year-old son to read to me. What a joy!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11480915513670310108noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1776222898849461648.post-76915445312437827842007-11-25T22:40:00.000-08:002007-11-25T22:40:00.000-08:00Thanks for submitting your post to the Carnival of...Thanks for submitting your post to the Carnival of Family Life which I am hosting this week for the first time!

Have you considered hosting? And he's good too!

It has worked out better than I'd ever expected. The children aren't intimidated by him because he's "one of them" rather than an adult reading to them.

And reading aloud, expressively, is an important skill. I'm always surprised to see adults who can't.Noodlehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06313570354851840693noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1776222898849461648.post-73397926593518630302007-11-22T05:45:00.000-08:002007-11-22T05:45:00.000-08:00I agree, reading well out loud is a very important...I agree, reading well out loud is a very important skill and it's so much fun to watch it develop.Jacquelinehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12268284552273860414noreply@blogger.com
